Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX: ASM; NYSE American: ASM) reported high-grade and wide silver-gold intersections from its 2026 drilling program at the La Preciosa project in Durango, Mexico.
Hole PMLP-26-17 returned 616 grams per tonne silver and 0.32 g/t gold over an estimated true width of 4.86 meters within the La Gloria vein.
The result came from 76.8 meters downhole and represents the highest-grade highlighted intersection among the 13 holes included in the announcement.
Additional Holes Return High-Grade Silver
Hole PMLP-26-20 intersected 554 g/t silver and 0.54 g/t gold over 2.76 meters true width. It included 1.46 meters grading 750 g/t silver and 0.68 g/t gold.
At the junction of the La Gloria and Abundancia veins, hole PMLP-26-23 returned a wider interval of 132 g/t silver and 0.37 g/t gold over 23.60 meters true width.
That intersection included 0.84 meters grading 309 g/t silver and 0.59 g/t gold at La Gloria, along with 8.04 meters grading 202 g/t silver and 0.36 g/t gold at Abundancia.
Avino has received assays from 13 holes totaling approximately 3,300 meters. The holes form part of a planned 15,000-meter infill and extension program intended to refine the geological model and support long-term mine planning.
Vein Grades and Thicknesses Vary
Avino said the drilling supported the interpreted geometry of the La Gloria and Abundancia veins. Unlike many exploration announcements that report only drill-core lengths, the highlighted La Preciosa results were reported using estimated true widths.
However, the company also identified considerable variation in grade and thickness over distances of less than 10 meters. It attributed the variability partly to the pinch-and-swell geometry of the veins and a high nugget effect.
High grades were concentrated in the infill holes, while most extension holes returned low-to-medium grades. Additional drilling and modeling will be needed to determine how the new results affect the continuity, tonnage and average grade of the deposit.
Current Reserve Predates New Drilling
La Preciosa’s existing Proven and Probable Mineral Reserve contains approximately 11 million tonnes grading 206 g/t silver and 0.37 g/t gold. That represents about 72 million ounces of silver and 128,000 ounces of gold.
The project also contains Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources of 33.2 million tonnes grading 148 g/t silver and 0.27 g/t gold. Those resources are reported inclusive of the Mineral Reserve and should not be added to it.
Both estimates have an effective date of Oct. 31, 2025. Avino said none of the newly reported holes were incorporated into the current resource or reserve calculations. The assays therefore do not automatically increase the project’s defined tonnes or contained metal.
La Preciosa Remains in Development
Avino has completed more than 3,000 meters of underground development at La Preciosa and is processing mineralized development material at its nearby Avino mill.
During the third quarter of 2026, La Preciosa contributed 91,411 ounces of silver and 166 ounces of gold from development material. Avino continues to evaluate long-term mining, hauling and processing rates while preparing for production mining at the La Gloria and Abundancia veins.
The latest assays may support future changes to the resource model or mine plan, but any increase will require further technical work. Actual production rates, recoveries, costs and project economics may differ from current expectations.
