Irruptive Metals Corp. (TSXV: IRR) reported final assay results from its first diamond drilling campaign at the Pimentón copper-gold project in central Chile, led by a 795.2-meter mineralized interval.
Hole IMP002 returned 795.2 meters grading 0.66% copper equivalent from 167 meters to the end of the hole at 962.2 meters. The interval averaged 0.31% copper and 0.41 grams per tonne gold.
It included a 60-meter gold-dominant section grading 1.49% CuEq, composed of 1.37 g/t gold and 0.31% copper.
Four Holes Test Central Target
Irruptive Metals completed 3,084 meters across four holes drilled from two platforms. Drilling concluded April 17, and the company said all assays have now been received, validated and added to its geological model.
Hole IMP001 returned two main intervals: 202 meters grading 0.38% CuEq and 358.4 meters grading 0.49% CuEq.
IMP003 intersected 42 meters at 0.25% CuEq and 176 meters at 0.31% CuEq. IMP004 returned 406 meters grading 0.47% CuEq.
The program was designed partly to twin or near-twin historical holes drilled by Rio Tinto and Anglo American. Irruptive Metals said the new results were consistent with the historical data and supported geological continuity across the Central target.
The company’s current interpretation outlines a copper-gold porphyry corridor approximately 600 meters long and 300 meters wide. Irruptive Metals believes the system remains open in several directions, although additional drilling is required to determine its full extent.
CuEq Assumptions Require Caution
All reported intervals represent downhole core lengths. True widths have not been determined and are expected to be shorter than the reported lengths.
The company calculated copper-equivalent grades using a formula of copper percentage plus gold grade multiplied by 0.86. The calculation used average 2024 and 2025 prices of US$4.95 per pound for copper and US$2,918 per ounce for gold.
Equal recoveries were assumed for copper and gold, but no metallurgical recovery testing has been completed at Pimentón. The CuEq figures may therefore differ from the amount of metal that could ultimately be recovered economically.
The intervals were calculated using a cutoff above 0.2% CuEq, allowing three dilution samples totaling six meters. No top cut was applied.
Pimentón does not currently have a mineral resource or mineral reserve. The reported mineralization does not establish that an economically viable deposit exists.
Resource Work Planned
Irruptive Metals plans to reprocess historical geophysical data and conduct mineralogical and metallurgical testing. The company is also targeting additional drilling between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
Management expects to incorporate resampled historical holes into an updated technical report containing an initial inferred resource estimate during the first quarter of 2027. That timeline remains subject to exploration results, technical work, permitting and financing.
