Lode Gold Secures Three-Year Fremont Drill Permit in California

Lode Gold Secures Three-Year Fremont Drill Permit in California

Lode Gold plans to use the program to collect geological, metallurgical, geotechnical and hydrogeological information for a prefeasibility study targeted for completion in 2027.

The work will include metallurgical core drilling intended to update earlier testing, which the company said produced gold recoveries of 91% in 2014. Large-diameter core will also support rock-mechanics studies for a potential underground mine design.

Infill drilling within the Pine Tree–Josephine zones is intended to provide additional information on the continuity and density of the existing Indicated resource. The results could support the conversion of some resources into Mineral Reserves during the prefeasibility study, although no conversion is assured.

Planned hydrogeological holes will test permeability and characterize the rock mass. Because some will be placed in areas with limited historical drilling, they may also provide new geological information.

Lode Gold said in July that it had engaged US-based American Drilling Corp. to conduct the program.

Updated Fremont Resource

An updated NI 43-101 technical report filed in July reported an Indicated resource of 19.9 million tonnes grading 1.79 grams per tonne gold, containing 1.15 million ounces, at a cutoff grade of 0.82 grams per tonne.

The project also contains an Inferred resource of 38.5 million tonnes grading 1.73 grams per tonne gold, or 2.17 million ounces, at the same cutoff. Mineral resources are not Mineral Reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability.

Fremont is a brownfield project with approximately 43,000 meters of historical drilling, 14 adits, two shafts and about 23 kilometers of underground workings. Previous mining ended in 1942.

The permit removes a near-term regulatory obstacle, but Lode Gold must still begin and complete the drilling, evaluate the results and finish the planned prefeasibility study. The project’s development timeline will also depend on technical findings, financing and any additional approvals required.

Sources include Lode Gold Resources’ permit announcement dated August 10, 2026, its drilling-contractor announcement dated July 21, 2026, and information from the updated NI 43-101 technical report filed for the Fremont Gold Mine in July 2026.

The planned 3,500- to 4,500-meter drilling program, potential resource conversion and targeted completion of a prefeasibility study in 2027 are forward-looking statements based on the company’s current plans. Drilling results, resource conversions, study findings, financing and project-development timelines are uncertain. The Administrative Use Permit authorizes surface exploration and drilling but does not constitute approval to construct or operate a mine.

Mineral resources are not Mineral Reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability. Exploration-stage mining securities are speculative and carry significant risk, including the potential loss of capital.
